Rolyan Polyflex II Thermoplastic Splinting Material

  • Features a high conformability and low resistance to stretch
  • Provides outstanding natural drape and excellent strength
  • Can be reheated and reshaped, but won’t return to original shape
  • Splinting material is non-toxic, latex-free, and radiolucent

Key Material Benefits

Polyflex II is the only Rolyan splint that is flexible enough when cooled to directly resist stress fatigue. It will resist the start and spread of cracks caused by high load flexing of the splint, making it the ideal choice for splints used in a heavy work environment. It’s recommended for finger and hand splints, dynamic splints, neck collars, and more.

Ultimate Control and Precise Fit

The Polyflex II Thermoplastic Splinting Material is easily stretched when heated and only requires soft, gentle pressure to form a splint, allowing clinicians to have excellent control. The Rolyan splinting material easily conforms to the surface contours and details, reducing the time spent fabricating the splint. It provides a precise fit for increased comfort with fewer pressure areas. The water-based, non-stick coating prevents accidental bonding until the coating is scrubbed off or removed with a solvent.

Splinting Material Attributes

Rolyan Polyflex II thermoplastic sheets are offered in 1 percent or solid perforation options in white, beige, or blue. The splinting material is available in 1/8" (3.2 mm), 1/16" (1.6 mm), and 3/32" (2.4 mm) sheet thicknesses that are suitable for larger fracture braces or intricate pediatric splints. The hardened splint features a moderate to maximum rigidity of 49.8 kpsi according to the Young’s Modulus testing value.
