The Covid-19 virus has changed a lot of the ways we live and behave. These behavioral changes are even more pronounced in the healthcare setting. Omnimed has been a leading manufacturer of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) storage for 50 years. We have sold tens of thousands of glove box holders over the years. These holders were designed to last generations and provide a convenient method to store glove boxes.

We were recently asked by a customer to come up with a way to retrofit existing glove box holders with a protective shield. The purpose of the shield is to create a solid barrier to protect the gloves from vapors and aerosols. It is believed by experts that the Covid-19 is carried on these vapors. We have created a simple and effective design to block these vapors. The Omnimed Vapor Shield has a stainless steel lid and door to protect the gloves from unwanted spray. The shield is made up of a cap and piano hinged door. They are designed specifically for our glove box holders and will not work on any other holders.

The door of the shield swings up to remove the gloves. The bottom of the door extends slightly below the bottom of the holder for easy opening. The cap and door are easily removed to reload full cartons of gloves. Please note the top of the glove box holder will need to be slightly spaced away from the wall to provide room for the cap to nest on top. The glove box holders are sold separately from the Vapor Shields.
