Named "sugar-tong" due to its long, U-shaped form, similar to a utensil used to pick up sugar cubes; the sugar tong orthosis is used to stabilize injuries of the forearm and wrist by preventing forearm rotation and wrist motion. It is customized to the patient by trimming and heating at the appropriate temperature to shape to the forearm.
